Today's Conspiracy Theorist

The title Conspiracy Theorist has worn the cloak of a negative stigma to many who have heard it in the past.  They have been viewed as crazy people who make up stories from their own delusions.  Hermits that live in vans down by the river scaring little kids as they rant their theories.  Because of that stigma, when most people are called a Conspiracy Theorist, they take it as an insult.  It is a slap in the face for those who want to be taken seriously.  In reality, today, that stigma is not properly suited.  Most theories that are given is built on a foundation of fact.  The walls built on that foundation is created from ideas through analysis of the situation.  Conspiracy Theorists are people who actually take the time to think and are brave enough to express those thoughts, regardless of the ridicule they might receive from others.

We now live in a world where people have taken words with social stigmas and used it as a weapon.  Some have even changed the definitions of words in the dictionaries themselves to shape to their ideology.  If someone has an idea that conflicts with their ideology, they call the person who gave their conflicting idea a Conspiracy Theorist, no matter how sane and logical the conflicting idea might be.  They have greatly expanded the bubble of those that fit the description of who a Conspiracy Theorist is.  If you find yourself in that bubble, do not stand down.  Do not cave to social pressures that you know to be wrong.  Think for yourself.  Be brave enough to speak up to what you know is right.  If they call you a Conspiracy Theorist, embrace it.  Understand that they just called you a free thinker that has the courage to speak up.  Destroy the old stigma.  Be the Conspiracy Theorist and have fun doing it.

It is always important to understand that others have the right to think for themselves as well.  Be respectful of that.  If conflict arises, make sure it’s a respectful conflict of words and ideas, not fists of destruction.  Have meaningful conversations that you can both grow on.  When that happens, theories get better, and more truth is revealed.
